Really very busy program, not really known for good teaching but atleast high clinical volume is assured, the hospital caters the undeserved population of the city, they usually take 2 fellows inhouse and 1 fellow out of house. Nonetheless living in Chicago is a plus.

Got an interview today at St Elizabeth's Med Ctr. They offered only one date on 9/28, I couldn't attend it so had to decline.

Got an invite from SLU last week. Does anybody know what their fellowship is like? Info on web is scarce on this matter.

I do not know what it means when they offer only one date? Is that all they are interviewing on since they have internal candidates or just interviewing for formality?

Most likely someone cancelled and they want to fill that date.
 
I find it hard to believe top programs like NYU and Penn have not sent out interview invites by now. Can anyone please confirm that invites have been sent out by those programs?

NYU did send out invites on 8/15. Not sure about Penn.
 
this whole time i've thought in the back of my head - i'll pick up a few more interviews.
it's really sunken in now that no, i'm not getting anymore interviews.
and there's a significant possibility i will not match.

Penn has traditionally been the latest top tier program to send out invites. My year, external candidates didn't receive an invite until 9/8.

It's not the end of the world if not matched. Could use some free time to travel around the world, with a more flexible working schedule.

Although it may be the same NRMP number as the one you used during residency, you have to register on the NRMP website again as it is a different match. That's my understanding.

Yes, programs will reject applicants without sending a rejection email.
