I was thinking that there is no way the FTC would allow such a monopolizing merger to happen but after reading these articles:

Big firms afraid to criticize Medco deal

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/12/07/us-big-firms-senator-idUSTRE7B61UO20111207

Seven U.S. lawmakers back Medco/Express Scripts deal:

it is clear that they are paying off a lot of people that have the power to make this happen. I urge each and every one of you to contact your state officials and make it known that such a merger will harm each and every American citizen and HCP. Here is a link that is prewritten and all you have to do is press send, and it will go to your state reps (though I urge you to add your own insight). If you care about the future of this profession and the well being of the American public, you must send these letters as well as share this information with as many people as possible on facebook, twitter, youtube, whatever. I think we all appreciate the gravity of this situation.

It take 10 seconds. Every single Pharmacist/pharmacy student on here should do one.

done and done.

86 views had better mean 86 letters sent.... this is more important than anything right now. Time to post this on reddit.

This stuff gets searched by the google crawlers faster than I can click send, and I think each one of those counts as a view. No, seriously, I bet this post is already one of the top responses for "pharmacy + google crawlers".

Done.

Except for it saying that one of them in Washington needs my phone number. I'm a little suspicious about that. I don't want any telemarketing or annoying computerized phone calls about nothing useful.

Just create a google voice account and use that number.

This post is the top response for "student pharmacy google crawler" when I just used Google search. That tickles me to no end.

Dear Mr. XYZ:

Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns regarding the proposed Medco and Express Scripts merger. Your opinion is very important to me, and I appreciate the opportunity to respond to you on this critical issue.

As you may know, pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) companies connect drug manufacturers with the various prescription drug plans. While many PBM companies exist, three companies represent a majority of the market: Express Scripts, Medco Health Solutions, and CVS Caremark. Recently, Express Scripts announced a $29.1 billion deal to buy Medco Health Solutions. With roughly 1.6 billion in annual prescription claims, this merger would create the largest company in the pharmacy benefits manager industry.

The Federal Trade Commission will need to review the merger before making a final determination. Please be assured that I will keep your views in mind should this matter come before the United States Senate.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of further assistance. You may also visit my website (http://menendez.senate.gov) to learn more about how I am standing up for New Jersey families in the United States Senate.
