Hi all,
I'm anxiously waiting for my secondary applications to come in. I figure that during this lag I might as well start working on some essay questions so I can get the apps back ASAP. Any secondary essay topics would be greatly appreciated since I've applied to pretty much every DO school. PCOM is my first choice so that's probably the essay I'm most interested in finding out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, do most of these secondaries require a picture?

thanks a lot,
JB

JB:
PCOM's essay is basically explain why you are choosing to apply to their school and why you want to be an osteopathic physician. The secondary is a single sheet of paper and does not take much time to fill out with the exception of drafting the essay. PCOM does not require a picture. Most osteo schools that I applied to did not require a picture. Hope this helps.

AZCOM requires a picture for your application. Standard answers to get together for secondaries: why DO, why school X, if education not continuous what have you been up too, list medically related experience with dates and hours worked, same list for work experience, what does the honor code mean to you. If you get this info together you can get the secondaries out ASAP. You need to get them out without delay. If your stats are stong no need to worry too much at this late time but, if you have a weaker application do not delay with secondaries. Don't misunderstand, if you are a Harvard grad 3.8/35 you still need to get your information in NOW. Good luck.

jdj basically nailed it. Everyone asks basically the same questions (with slight variations). It appears that the only schools requiring pictures are Arizona and Chicago both part of Midwestern College. Perhaps one or two others.

Western has a box at the bottom of the first page on the secondary. It's stated that it's optional, but I included one anyway. Why? Well, I had nothing to hide, and they're going to see my face anyway when went for the interview, right? I figured it was a way for them to get to "know" me before I showed up...
