Essays for Secondaries

Simple question:

Just how different do my essays have to be this time around vs. the last time I applied to the schools I'm applying to now?

I called VCU and they said it's better to change it up a little. I don't honestly get why my reasons to attend VCU have to change as I go from one year to the next.

I gave it my all writing those secondaries. I am finding it hard to improve upon myself.

Can anyone advise me on how to change my essays this time around?

I never looked at my old secondaries. Therefore, they had to be different. Part of this is because my old computer died, but it worked!

When I applied, the secondaries had questions to answer for the next essay. Is it not like that now?? Do they give you anything to go on??
