I'm going to be on the East Coast for an interview in December and I want to email a bunch of other schools to let them know I'll be in their region (I'm from Washington state). Does anyone know the standard practice for these kinds of emails? Do I tell them which school I'm interviewing at or is that a faux pas?

You really should have used the search function instead, but I'll spare you the snark for once.

Just say you're in the area and dates and where you're from.Doesn't matter at what school.

Just say,

Dear __
I'm a current applicant to (school). I live in WA, but I'll be in (area) between (dates). Would it be possible to schedule an interview at that time?

Yee, don't tell them why you're already there.

Or call them and ask the same thing. Might be faster.

I'm on mobile and the search didn't show anything, I thought it was weird too. Thanks for the info anyway!
