bump! OOS female, middle third... haven't heard a peep!
So Dr. Solhaug emailed me back after like thirty minutes (amazing) and told me that "My letter would be sent out tomorrow" and to "contact Vera Potts for a phone interview". Anybody else ever experience this? Phone interview after my official interview? What could this mean?
Thanks for any help.
hm...i emailed Dr. Solhaug about a month ago after the preview weekend and i've yet to hear back from him....would you guys suggest me contacting him or Vera Potts??
i'm oos top 1/3 waiting for this dreaded wait to be over....
No word here yet either. Male instate top 1/3.
Who is Vera Potts? Does she work for Dr. Solhaug?

I'm in-state, middle 1/3.So I emailed Dr. Solhaug to set up an interview and he never got back to me so I called Vera, and she told me to email her with some times I could meet with Dr. Solhaug, and that was about 2 weeks ago, and she has yet to email me back, so I think they are pretty busy right now.
I am top third OOS,
And what is the deal with the waitlsit, It seems like everybody on here is in the top third.
That's because the average SDNer is not the average applicant!
I am OOS F and I have yet to hear anything. I called today and they said that they had had some movement.
I hope this helps!
ACCEPTED TODAY!!
I was in the middle third when waitlisted in November, bumped up to top 1/3 in April.
So, the waitlist is moving!!
Nope. Unless I missed the call or didn't get one or something.
It was by mail.
Gotcha. Thanks! There was someone on this thread who said they received a phone call so that is why I asked.
So I just spoke to someone in admissions about my waitlist status, and asked her whether or not they anticipate getting to the middle third/bottom third. She said the committee looks at the entire list when an opening becomes available. Does this make any sense? If this were the case, what would be the point of ranking into thirds? I just don't get it.
When I called to inquire about my status, she just told me I was in the top third, and so i asked if they just picked a name out of a hat, or was there more rational behind it. She then told me that they give everyone some type of score, but that there can be up to 20 or more people with the same score. So if they need a in state male, they will find the instate male with the highest score, but if the instate male with the highest score is in the bottom third, then they will pass everybody else up in the high and middle third to take that in state male. At least that is what she told me.
Thats ridiculous. Why would the person with the highest score be on the bottom of the waitlist?
buuuump
still desperately waiting...
