So I've been taking a lot of practice exams like a lot of Kaplan full lengths and have already taken the 3-7 AAMC exams (maybe 11 in total?). I have 8,9,10 and 11 left which I will be completing obviously. Exam is May 20th. Now my problem is that I'm stuck and my scores are NOT reaching the mid 30s which was my goal. I would say i'm about any where from 4-5 points away from the mid 30 mark. Most of the time when I take the exam I miss really silly Bull questions. This stuff is not hard and that's what is aggravating. The BS section just seems like a biologically "steroided" version of the VR which is cool with me because I kind of like the torture of finding stuff in passages/critical thinking. So I need advice on what to do now? By the way I have ALREADY been doing hardcore post review on exams, any where from 6-8 hours/ exam. However I feel like the MCAT is a little bit of luck it just depends on how your mind connects that day, how you're able to pick things up/ comprehend the passage and if you get topics that you are weak or strong on. So yeah 2 weeks what to do now? PS is stuck at 10 not going a single point over which is hella annoying because i've read this stuff over and over again and have been practicing! VR and BS are ehhh okay but always room for improvement.

I feel you! I'm in the same boat too, with my test being on may 26th. Ive done all the Kaplan fls and am now doing aamc. I feel like Kaplan gives you a false sense of security, because I was hitting 34-36 on my kaplans and on aamc I'm at a 31 and my target score is 35.

If I was you I wouldn't spend so much time on rereading subjects, but more on minimizing bull**** mistakes. I find that if I just stop second guessing myself and go with my gut instinct for questions I'm not sure on, my answer is always right which boosts me up a point or two. Try also to focus on POE and just give it the best you've got. However, do make sure that if theres a blatant gap of knowledge, to go back and drill it in with practice.

You can do it! 🙂

sadly, there's not much more you can do at this point. just hope for the best and trust that your preparation will get you where you want to be. and most importantly, stay positive regardless of how unsatisfied you are with a particular score you've received on a particular practice test.

Yeah man 🙁 I feel like 99 % of the time it's not the gap of knowledge but it's picking out the RIGHT things out of the passage. Sometimes I miss like a word or sentence in the question or passage and I end up getting the question wrong. For example on one practice exam they wrote TL as the element for some ******ed reason I went to the periodic table and looked up TI because of the timed pressure. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah lost 3 questions in that passage just because of that lol

LOL, I did the exact same thing with "Tl". And, I am also going through a similar situation. I am getting mostly 28ish, and I really want a 30 on the exam. I wanted to do, of course, better than 30 on the practice because I am csare my nerves will get the best of me during the exam.

Tell me about it man I lost an entire point on the PS section because of that "TI" BS! I was so pissed. Regardless we really have to keep our cool. I tend to take the exam cold man NO emotions. I tell myself before every practice exam you know what if I bomb this who cares i'll take it again. Getting nervous is probably the worst thing to do right now.
