Are these passages in EK Bio easier than the real thing? They don't seem that bad. I'm missing questions here and there, but I expected to do much worse than I'm doing. Is it an over-simplification of the Bio on the real MCAT or is it representative?

P.S. I'm using the 2004 edition because they're on loan from a friend. I realize it's not exactly up-to-date, but I didn't want to spend the money on a new book. Will this hurt me?

Some are easier, majority are harder; likewise in regards to similarity to MCAT style questions. I primarily used the EK Bio (6th edition) and EK 1001 in Bio for the BS portion of the MCAT and loved it. More importantly, I got a 15 in BS.

Regardless of what you use to study, make sure to use the official AAMC practice tests as the best gauge of your studying/understanding of the material.

Goodluck!
