Does anyone have any advice on the best way to tackle the EK books? I have gotten the lecture books and the 1001 questions, but I do not plan on getting the Audio Osmosis because I never learned well by listening. I know the EK website has a homestudy plan, but has anyone had any success with their own individual plan by just using the books and the 1001 questions? I will be doing AAMC tests and the assessment package later on; this is just my beginning of studying.

I don't have a particular strategy to tackle the books, but I'll comment just because no one else has.

The home study plan that you're talking about is 10 weeks long (which I'm sure you already know). In actuality, however, there is a break week in the middle (week 5) and week 10 really has nothing to do with the books. So if you scrap weeks 5 and 10, it's an 8 week program.

The way the schedule works is it has you preread 1 lecture from each subject (4 total) on the first day of the week, and then take on each of those lectures separately and more in depth on each of the remaining days of the week.

For example:

Mon: Preread lecture 1 bio, lecture 1 chem, lecture 1 organic, lecture 1 physics
Tue: Lecture 1 bio (in lecture exercises, 30 min exam, take notes, etc.)
Wed: Lecture 1 chem " "
...

It would help to know what your goals are and when your test is.

I took about a month to go through all the lectures. Then, I started taking practice tests and rereading the books and supplementing anything that seemed unclear with PR. I began noticing a lot of small details I overlooked while studying for the first time when I reread each lecture a while after reading it the first time. Hope this helps you.
