Is there an exhaustive list of materials available that I need to look at before I take my NBDE Part I? If so, can someone please point me to the relevant thread? If not, can you post any relevant materials that you are aware of?

first thing is start with one item like decks. first aid and mosby offer books as well. i like decks bc it covers a lot of what the exam may ask. but if you are crunched for time then mosby is a better option.
start with one of the three and dont start a second book until u are comfortable with the first one. many people get all three and never finish on completly, so get one and learn it. there are other books but i dont recommend it unless u have more than a year of full time prep.
i know of two kaplan books outthere for ndbe. dentessentials and the basic science review. i dont like dentessential bc it requires research to fill complete their outlines. i believe the material should already be there to review. the kaplan basic science review is excellent and probably the most in depth of all the review books. 6 months is plenty of time. pick one and stick to that as well as search for released exams.
the only caveat with the kaplan book is that the info maybe overkill. so your going to study a lot more info than may not be on the test (the book appears to have been made for med students and repackaged to dental students). having said that it wont hurt to know more. if you go to a book store and grab medessential and dentessential your going to see its basically the same book. same with the basic science review book. but i think the basic science review book is easier to follow.
Thank you for your reply. I heard the same about Kaplan as well. I will start with Dental Decks as you suggested. As a somewhat related question, are there any free tests that I can download to continue my practice? Thank you!
