Hey all,
So thanks to some good fortune I am looking to graduate with my degree in Chemical Engineering in 3 years. Now I have no wish to hurry so I was wondering what would be a good course of action with that extra year. I plan on trying to not have any breaks between 4 years of school and med school. Right now with the extra year of scholarship, I could just attend classes I think would be beneficial, or get a masters degree in Engineering through a specialized program in the school. I am leaning to the masters especially since I would get a more specialized focus in my lab and more funding to carry out a project for the thesis. Thoughts?

A masters in engineering would be a great degree for an engineer to have, so if you want to be an engineer, do it! If you want to be a physician though, it is not the most high-yield way to spend your time.

If you were applying tomorrow, what would be the weakest aspects of your application? Volunteering? Leadership? Medical exposure? You have a chance to seriously improve your application as well as enriching your life experiences -- Do that.

Second semester of junior year just taking regular course load atm. Some dual and ap combination to get through the first year. I have an understanding that some med schools don’t take AP or CC credits will look into who takes ASAP.
