Hey all. So here's a quick breakdown of my situation:

I've learned I failed my Step 2 CS. It's early February, so I am very close to Match Day. I am able to retake the test, but that is going to happen literally the week before match.

So far, one school knows about the failed CS (school I currently go to, that I interviewed for residency) and they've been pretty understanding, knowing I am retaking. I believe they also ranked me ahead of knowing Step 2 results.

One other school I am keen on and had a great interview at has called recently asking about my Step 2 score. They called before I had my results, so I told them I'd get them in February. I got my result, saw the failed CS, and am now unsure if I should call this program back... tell them I failed but am in the process of retaking and know what I can do to improve and pass.

OR.. is it OK to not call back or tell them? I'm not sure which is the best route for myself. I could call/email and be honest with the results and process... but I also am not sure if this will really hurt me, if they haven't ranked, etc.

Any advice is appreciated - thanks.

They may not rank you without a score is the problem. I'd probably risk it and not report it

Just don’t release it. I’d take that risk.

That's been one of my concerns for sure. Do you think its an issue in that this one school asked for it awhile back, I mentioned scores should be back in February and since then they haven't had an update from me. I guess for me, I'm anxious if waiting seems bad... then again I could wait and see if they need to call/or do call back for it again.

Yeah I mean it might sink you at that progran but I think releasing might sink you from everywhere

A lot of schools won't rank you OP if you fail CS, so do not release your result. But I think you should let the school that contacted you know about it.
