Is it true that someone who failed a few classes (some of them pre-requisites) but retook & passed them at another school will be able to get into a podiatric school?
There's a girl I know who said she got accepted into NYCPM and Temple, even though she failed 3 courses at her first college. She failed Bio II, got a "C+" in the Bio II lab, failed Chem II, and failed Calculus. Altogether, she did pretty bad in the first college she went to. Her GPA was around a 2.5. Then, she transfered to a different college, and got a "B" in Bio II, "A" in Bio II lab, a "B-" in Chem II, and just got a "P" for passed in Calculus. Her GPA in this college went up to a 3.6 or so. She took the DAT and said that she got a 17 on it (isn't that pretty low??). She applied to podiatric schools after she got her 90 or more semester hours, and got into 2 pod schools. She didn't even have any reason for failing the classes the first time; I guess they were just too hard for her or she wasn't really trying or whatever.
Is this typically what happens in this situation? I mean, do pod schools overlook failed grades if you took and passed the classes later on? Has this happened to anyone on this forum? I'd love to know! Thanks
