App Complete: Wednesday, 7/6/11, 10:41 am :xf:
Rejection E-mail: Thursday, 7/7/11, 8:31 am +pity+
-----------------------------------------------------------
Total time needed to read my application and determine that I suck: 21 hours, 50 minutes

Can anybody beat that?

(Hey, at least they're efficient!)

Vanderbilt?

Or some random state school that has strict screens for OOS applicants (U-dub comes to mind)?

Ouch, that stings!

What school, do you mind sharing so the rest of us can get ready?

Your analysis made me lol.
Thanks, OP.

Seems like an appropriate time to include some Peanuts-themed humor for all of the old-timers out there:

I'm very curious which school gives out such swift rejections so early.

However, I think the dubious distinction of 'fastest rejection' goes to the poor sods who applied early to Einstein.

I won't reveal the school's identity, but I will say that it is a private school and I live in the state, anyway.

And it rhymes with Britzker.

 sorry to hear that op. better luck with the rest :xf:

Should have applied today instead of yesterday.

I guess Einstein had their secondary on the website so some people filled it out paid it and submitted it but elsewhere on the website it said your app will be thrown out if u submit the secondary before you get an e-mail and the people i know who did the secondary early all got rejection e-mails...i think they also wont give them refunds on the secondary

inb4 ColeNaylor comes to heroically defend a school he hasn't attended yet.

If you submit the secondary to Einstein before they send an email to verify they received your primary, it's an automatic rejection.

In Einstein's defense, it did say so on the main page of the secondary, and then later, but if you miss it, you miss it, and they don't refund the secondary fee.

Wow that disgusts me. Did u say something redonkulous in your secondary app? I just don't understand how they take your secondary app fee and say "oh hey by the way we were never really considering you".

I'm applying here in a couple weeks. I really hope my app isn't reviewed by the same adcom member.

Doesn't UC give out big scholarships to a vast majority of their matriculants? Like over $10 million a year or something for each incoming class? Consider your secondary fee being a drop in that ocean of money that will go towards attracting kids away from their cheap state schools and/or more prestigious med schools to go to UC instead.

No, nothing redonkulous, but I did construct a textual rendition of this image out of slashes, brackets and exclamation points in answer to their question about why I'm a great fit for Pritzker:

Perhaps they rejected you because of your stats? That school is a reach for me (based on MCAT score data) so I wouldn't be surprised if they reject me equally as quickly, regardless of how awesome my secondary app answers might be (I haven't turned it in yet because I just received the invite two days ago). On the bright side, at least they didn't drag out the rejection...

What is "nilf"?

he's a resident or attending or something who is very politically-inclined, to use gettheleadout's description, and likes to come to pre-allo and post about why the government is ruining medicine and stuff. He used to make posts about once a month back when I made that lolcat.

What is "nilf"?

"Nerd I'd Like to ****. Nilfs are often extremely attractive human beings, often being known for having e.s.p., and also for just being better than everyone else." - ud

Nilf is a resident that posts threads here, typically to point out some of the recent unsavory events affecting physicians.

Don't worry... that was my first rejection too. It sucks cause of how efficient they are, but you'll be fine! Also at my Duke interview we all joked about how fast Pritzker shot us down haha

he knows almost everyone thinks he is a troll so he has fun with it. That's what makes him so much more fun than his predecessors etzio and protag...he's so similar to them in regards to all the issues he trolls(?) on, except he is a lot less butthurt

Flatearth has kind of grown on me in a troll la la kind of way.

I don't associate lame Russian singers with troll.

This is exactly why I've holding off on the Pritzker secondary. I'd rather complete secondaries to schools where I know I have a somewhat reasonable shot of attending.

I'll complete it someday, but it's probably going to be one of the last I complete.

You'll probably get in because they'll have trigger-happily rejected everyone else.

Heads-up play!

This post melted my heart

Last year I submitted my Boston University secondary and was promptly rejected within a day. I couldn't believe it, though I didn't write their "optional" essays. In retrospect it might have been a poor decision, but they emphasized that they were indeed "optional" several times throughout the secondary. And then when I was on an interview at another school in the northeast, the topic of harsh rejection letters came up amongst the interviewees and 4 of the 6 other people had applied to BU and every single one of us also received quick and prompt axes.

OP, I had a similar experience with VCU. I was all excited to get the secondary since they screen, and then promptly got axed the next day. Bye bye, secondary fee!
