Depending on mood:
Chain Smoker by Chance the Rapper when I needed to get pumped up for a test.
Spirit Cold by Tall Heights when I need to calm down and relax before an interview.

EDIT: Also Same Drugs by Chance the Rapper. I like to think he's singing about his prescription drugs for his presumed comorbid conditions but I have my doubts..

De Ushuaia a la Quiaca by Gustavo Sandoval. From the "Motorcycle Diaries" soundtrack

I listen to it while I walk to class before an exam. It calms me down and helps me focus

I actually enjoy Pray for Plagues by BMTH, it is really good for getting "crazy" and drowning out the world. I listen to it before I do squats

I listened to Chasing Twisters by Delta Rae on repeat while driving to take the MCAT and it made me feel like I could accomplish anything.

On repeat, every finals week:

Eat Sleep Rave Repeat - Fatboy Slim
Feelin This - Blink 182
Clouds - One Direction

just take my word for the last one

"Highway to the Dangerzone" before big exams in college. But I listened to it so much that the effect wore off by the time I graduated lol.

When studying, I love to listen to trip hop (like Nujabes, Nomak etc) or classical music. Anything with lyrics, or even anything I haven't heard before is a no-go.

This reminds me of a story from when I was in high school when an English teacher told the class that you shouldn't listen to music when you study because "who would want to get treated by the doctor who listened to music while they studied." Now I'm like, "where would I be without my study music?"

Smokin' by boston (as featured in the most recent south park)
Kickstart my heart by motley crue
Hell Yeah by rev theory (blue mountain state theme song)
Blow by Atreyu
Falling Down by Atreyu
I Feel like Dancin' by All Time Low
Weightless by All Time Low
Centuries by Fall Out Boy
Victorious by Panic! at the disco

just off the top of my head

The album Blood by In This Moment
The songs 512 and desolation by Lamb of God
The album Pit Justice by I Am Revenge
The Reflecting God, Killing Strangers, and a few more by Marilyn Manson
I like wierd metal ok

Win Again by Nicki Minaj was my go to song for motivation during MCAT prep. I would listen to it on every break during my full-lengths. No one told me you couldn't check your phone during breaks, and I had planned to listen to this song to pump myself during breaks on test day. I ended up having a panic attack and thought I was going to fail because I couldn't listen to Nicki Minaj (I ended up 1 point above my target score, scoring a 514).

Also, on the 1hr drive to the testing center, I randomly felt the need to listen to Firework by Katy Perry. I ended up crying and then felt very inspired. Nothing makes you feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind quite like the MCAT haha.

MCAT Pre-Entrance Mix:
1. X Gon' give it to ya
2. What's my name
3. Party Up in Here
4. Where the Hood at
5. Ruff Ryders Anthem

I listened to "X Gon' give it to ya" right before my first interview. Just got accepted.. Just throwing that out there.

I listened to Beyonce's Love on Top on repeat while studying for the MCAT.....got a 519 and I only have Queen Bey to thank
Haha great song choice. One time, I was working on some research in the bio lab late at night blasting Love on Top by Beyonce because I thought no one was around. Some students walked by and started dancing outside of the lab until I noticed, haha. Great song.

HAHAHAHAHAAH The tears are real. We should swap playlists some time, win again is one of my go to too... Nicki's monster though is where I go if I need to total knockout.

Lmao I'm glad someone appreciates my sense of humor. I'd be down to swap playlists. Monster is another great song by Nicki. Can you PM me with my profile listed as private?

I was so scarred by my Nicki Minaj induced panic attack on test day that I tell the story to all of my MCAT prep students now haha.

Thumbs Up by Kill the Noise - sole reason I did well on the MCAT 😉

Since nobody else has mentioned.. almost all songs from Two Steps From Hell. But, especially "Dragon Rider", "Strength of a Thousand Men", "Magika", "To Glory", "Protectors of the Earth" and "El Dorado" to name a few.

I am pretty sure "Protectors of the Earth" played on loop in my head while taking the MCAT.

All the way up-French Montana. I hated this song for so long and then started studying to it. It just gets me so pumped for some reason
