Can someone let me know which one of these courses will be counted towards my science GPA? I am trying to figure out which courses I am going to take next year.
1) 3120 Brain and Behavior. Cr. 3
Prereq: PSY 1010 or 1020. No credit after PSY 5050. Introduction to the brain and its influence over behavior. Structure and function of the nervous system, neural communication, and neural mechanisms of higher nervous system functions and dysfunctions. Topics include: biological basis of sleep, sex, learning, memory, language, schizophrenia, and depression. (T)
- my suspicions are yes for this one.
2) 3310 Abnormal Psychology. Cr. 4
Prereq: PSY 1010 or 1020. Nature and causes of various forms of abnormal behavior, including schizophrenia, depression, and neurosis, viewed from psychological, biological, cultural, developmental and historical perspectives. Diagnosis and treatment of pathological behavior. (T)
- I initially didn't think this would count, but a few people said it did for them? Any one else have experiences regarding this course?
3) 4020 Research in Psychology. Cr. 3
Prereq: PSY 1010 or 1020. Primarily for students interested in future graduate studies in planning and evaluation of psychological research. Critical evaluation of scientific literature and the planning and development of psychological research proposals. The range of research methods and areas in psychology. (Y)
I have no idea for this one.

Prereq: PSY 1010 or 1020. Physiological mechanisms underlying behavior and mental processes: sensory-motor mechanisms; integrative action of the nervous system; neuro-physiological mechanisms involved in emotional behavior, learning and memory; influences of hormones on behavior. (F,W)

Principles and computational methods that apply to quantitative aspects of psychological procedure; elementary correlation theory and prediction, sampling problems, tests of hypotheses, elementary test theory, interpretation of results. - have everyone's psychology stats courses been counted, or is there a specific criteria that they need to meet- ie, they cover a certain number of math based stats concepts?

Also, for the courses on this list that can reasonably be assumed to count towards my science gpa, would I be able to get a letter of rec from these profs (I have received conflicting feedback on this?!
10) Lastly, if I am doing a directed study and the topic is science related, ie. my project is based on clinical neuroscience research, would it count towards my sciene gpa? - it is offered as PSY 4990. - Would I have to provide a description of the project because a generic course description does not exist?
