I'm still trying to figure out which dental schools I want to apply to. I was really considering OHSU & UW, but I noticed Anatomy is a prerequisite for OHSU & Microbio for UW. Problem is, I didn't take those classes during my undergrad. I was really surprised to see those classes were listed as prereqs. I assumed I just needed all the general classes like Bio, GC, OC, Physics, & Biochem. Stupid, I know lol... Now I'm sitting here annoyed with myself for not doing my research ahead of time. Ugh! lol. Question is, can I apply to these schools even if I don't have their prereqs fully met, as long as I complete Anatomy & Microbio before I matriculate?

I would do some additional research and find either a University or community college that you can take Anatomy & Microbio. You can still apply without having completed prereqs. For example I haven't taken a few major prereqs, but as long as I complete them before entering into the dental school it will be okay. I have a few classes planned to take next winter semester that are needed for most dental schools

Yeah you can apply as long as you take them before you matriculate

Didn't take anatomy during undergrad. Got into a school that requires it. I'm now taking it online through BYU. Just need to have it done before we start.

You dont have to have it when you apply. You just have to complete it by the time matriculate.

Yes you can apply. And to be on the safe side, put these classes in your "planned in" courses when you do your application so schools know that you're planning to take them.

I would suggest not taking the upper level science classes at a community college, take them at a 4 year school as a lot of dental schools won't take the upper level credits from a CC. I would also double check on any math credits they may require as well as English and Sociology.

I have more questions.. So I think I will need to retake two classes.... SIGH. Will I be able to apply to schools before I finish retaking them?
