hello everyone

i am interested in applying to ferris state college of pharmacy as well as wayne state college of pharmacy, and i was wondering if anyone of you guys has any information about how hard it is to get into these two schools (GPA and PCAT scores)
thanks in advance for your help 😍

They are both getting tougher every year. I can say from experience that I was waitlisted (deep) at Ferris in 02, but never applied to Wayne. Check the pre-reqs carefully. The towns are pretty different too: Big Rapids vs Detroit. Any reason for skipping UofM? PM me if you have more questions.

Ferris is a touch school to get into. you need to have a very high PCAT score. GOODL LUCK

I had a 96%, but they weren't buying....

Edit: PS, I'm Pharm.D. class of 06 elsewhere, but good luck to you!

Hi, I am a 1st yr pharmD student at wayne state and just started school couple of weeks ago. So far, I am very happy with the way things are going. Wayne State has a great medical center facility and the pharmacy dept. is located in the medical center. So the pharmacy students have a great advantage of having hospitals right in their backdoor.
The curriculum is patient-care focused. In addition the pharmD program is made up of the Pharmacy Practice dept. and the Pharmaceutical science dept.
And lastly, you must have heard about people saying that wayne state is in downtown detroit, the most dangerous city in USA. It does not look that bad so far. Just do not walk all alone at night. Otherwise it's pretty safe here.

your area can't be as bad as where i go to school if i can survice you can too.

Take a look at this webiste. All you need to know about wayne state pharmD program. It's from PharmCAS.

http://www.pharmcas.org/collegesschools/schoolWayneStatepage.htm

Make sure that take a good look at your pre-requisites. They require you to take these stupid requirements, like the English Proficiency exam and Critical thinking exam.
If you have any other questions let me know.

Hope this helps

If you're a borderline student you may want to think twice about going to wayne. The P2 class has already lost over 20 of the 68 students they started with a year ago. They won't hesitate to make you sit out a year if you fail a class. Some say they actually have a certain number they try to fail each year and will adjust the difficulty of classes to meet that number.
If you're a good student and understand that you must study more than just the day before exams, you will likely do fine. But if you don't have the best study habits, it may take you 5 or 6 years to finish the program.
