So I'm taking the beast in just a couple days now and I'm finding that it feels as though I'm forgetting stuff at a much more rapid pace than usual, haha

Any of you veterans experience this? Does it "all come back" to you on test day when you have multiple choice as opposed to just trying to remember an entire pathway from scratch while walking to the car?

What is really weird is when you wake up and your mind is fixated on some biochem pathway or something for no particular reason. Even when I am sleeping I can't get a break! 😱

I keep worrying I'm going to forget something stupid, like my driver's license or my permit (yes I live within walking distance of a prometric center).

Or I'm going to take off my jacket during the test and instantly be handcuffed when they realize I am wearing an analog watch underneath 😱😱. Two violations for the price of one.

6 days out. Feels like I'm doing well with the small detail cramming but it also feels like I'm forgetting basic concepts. arrrggghhh. The worst part is that I don't know what to expect on the real deal. Some ppl have said it seemed fair. And then I've read some real horror stories here on SDN. So much is riding on which type of test you get. It's getting to me.

Without a watch how do we keep track of how much break time we are using? Are regular non-analog watches allowed?

No watches are allowed (to the best of my knowledge). I'm still trying to figure out exactly how we keep tract of break time...I'm really not sure :-/ Guesswork, I suppose.

So an analog watch is a normal watch. (we aren't at the point where digital is considered normal when it comes to watches are we?) And you can have a watch in your locker so you can keep track of your break time roughly that way. (minus time to check in and out of the test floor)

Good luck to all you guys. Please report back with how the test goes. I hope none of you get any crazy off-the-wall tests that we've heard about.

4 days left for me. I can't wait for this to be over. What are you guys bringing on the real day? I'm thinking lots of gum. Some eyedrops (someone mentioned to keep your eyes moisturized from staring at the screen too long). Lots of snacks. Sugar Free Redbulls. Coffee in a big thermos.. Anything else?

Coffee in a thermos. Orange juice. As many snacks as I can bring (most of which I can hopefully eat quickly and won't be too messy). Boiled egg, perhaps? Aleve/aspirin in case of headache. Eyedrops is not a bad idea, maybe I will also bring my glasses. Cell phone (turned off, of course). Watch (which can't come in with me 🙁 ). Permit, driver's license. Maybe perfume or something, to make me feel better. I'm going to wear comfy pants and socks and of course a jacket since I'm sure it will be 60 degrees in there.

I'm thinking of asking them ahead of time if it will be considered "aberrant behavior" if, on breaks, I sort of lie flat on my back for a couple of minutes during breaks. My back starts to hurt after sitting in a chair for a few hours and if I could just lay it flat, I'll feel better.

if they think lying on the floor is bad, wait till they see me doing pushups and running stairs then stretching my back and hammies haha. good luck to all taking it, you've done the time just focus and kick it right in the nads!

You got this, Sheldor! Go in and rock it! 😀

Thanks I sincerely hope so! I'm so overwhelemed by the volume that today the little bit of "studying" I've done has been staring blanking at First Aid, haha

As far as aspirin/Tylenol, I think I'm going to prophylactically take some Ibuprofen tomorrow morning with breakfast 🙂

Good idea! I didn't even think about doing pushups or stairs. Only takes a few mins and will definitely wake me up. Nice thinking!

Thanks for all the good luck wishes guys. I officially closed First Aid for the last time about an hour ago. Feels both nice and weird.

Anyway, thanks again, I'll let you know how it goes! :xf:
