Does anyone remember what Admissions said about the timeframe for hearing back from Mount Sinai after interviewing. I thought they said it would be about a month. Does anyone remember how they're supposed to notify us (snail mail vs. email)? I am coming up on a month since the interview and I am getting antsy.

They said it would be at least a month, and that they would call you if you got in.

Umm...I interviewed 10/30 and they told us the decisions would go out sometime late November. People who are accepted will be emailed, everyone else is snail mail. No phone calls as far as I'm aware...
 
first decisions won't go out until "middle of november". i called the other day to make sure. acceptances will be via email and rejections will be snail mail. i don't remember what they said about waitlists. it's my top choice so i am really really really anxious.

It's my top choice too...when did you interview? On the website, it says decisions will be made after Nov. 15, but Jessica definitely said the end of November when I interviewed. I hope I can make the first batch though because I can't wait any longer!

i interviewed the first week.
 
thanks guys. that was a fast response. unfortunately now im going to start freaking out as more time passes by without an email.

I thought the end of Nov WAS after the 15th....maybe I'm just out of practice with my calendar usage skills. 😉

Haha, well I was refering to like right after Nov 15, like a few days or so, as opposed to the end of November like after Thanksgiving.
 
It's a little sad when a week-long time frame can get you so worked up. You know you're pre-med when, right?
 
i called and they said no decisions until next week. UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! i cannot take it.i was counting down the days until the 15th.... another few days to go.
 
Unless they changed it from last year, acceptances are by email. I remember they were really good about sending the decisions when they said they would. I ended up going to a different school but it was a very tough choice. Good luck to everyone who's waiting. Mount Sinai is a great school.
 
ack!!! i was TOTALLY banking on hearing by nov. 15th.. when was the first week of interviews? i interviewed exactly one month ago...

I interviewed on 10/12.... any idea if that was early or anything?
 
interviews started the week of october 8th.
hopefully we will hear first thing on monday. they said "early next week". whatever that means. just gotta get through the weekend. :luck:
 
last year they sent out acceptances on the 11/16 so it shoudl be soon for u guys. gluck
 
their committee meeting was friday (the 16th), so perhaps some of you will hear tomorrow...?
 
Could anyone who's gotten the acceptance email post? Pretty please?

OMG I can't stand the tension. Does anyone know if they give out decisions over the phone?
 
i am losing my mind. seriously if anyone hears anything post it so the rest of us can cry. :luck:
 
they do not give out decisions by phone....all acceptances are by email. They usually start sending out emails by early afternoon. at least based off of what they did last year.
 
I have been wondering when they would send them out and I was just going to call the office today between 2PM and 4PM, the time dedicated to status checks. I know they cant tell me the final word, but they should be able to give me a better idea of when the decisions are going out. I interviewed the week of Oct 14. I will let y'all know what they say.

i just got it via email too. i interviewed on the week of OCT 14th though, so maybe if you interviewed after that they havent made decisions yet. or theyre just not going out all at once. good luck guys
 
Im attempting to keep up hope, but I feel like its not looking good... especially since I interviewed the first week... but who knows

i just called mssm and here is how it went:

me: have all of the acceptance emails gone out?
her: no, not yet. they are working on it.
me: are they all going out today?
her: today and tomorrow.
me: so they are not all sent out at once?
her: no.

thanks for posting what the admissions office said...although my stress level is still rather high
 
I interviewed on Nov. 5th, and haven't gotten the email. Do you think I would hear today if I had been accepted? Seeing that others have heard now, I am getting so nervous and anxious! Its a good thing I have a renal physio exam today and then I am leaving for vacation in California, otherwise I'd probably be checking my email hundred of times haha!

I interviewed last week. I wonder if that was soon enough to make the cut off for decisions last Friday. This is going to drive me crazy!!

Good luck to everyone. I think that they said there is at least a 2 week period between interview and review for those who interviewed earlier this month. But I could be wrong...

So, in other words, people who interviewed after 11/2 are going to be given a decision in the next cycle? The day I interviewed, they said the next round of decisions were going to be in December before Xmas.
 
I just called the admissions office. The woman told me that she doubted any one who interviewed last week would have made it to the committee for this round of decisions. Congrats to everyone who has gotten the nod so far and good luck to everyone else.
