I am having a hard time remembering all the enzymes. It is going very slow but I feel that I am starting to feel a little more confident. What are you planning to study after biochem? I still don't know if I should do Physio or Microbi.
Have a good day with plenty of studying!
I feel the same. Sometimes I feel that my life will be over if I don't get a good grade but that still doesn't prevent me from wasting time. I start very late in the day, around 10-11 and I try to study until 9pm and sometimes even later but i also have 2 young kids so it is very hard. I am at the library during the day because at home I couldn't accomplish anything.
Good luck! When are taking your exam?
Hi Guys,
I just want to wish all of you Best of Luck. May God be with you all the time and you all get what you deserve. Just keep motivated, even if you cant study one day, dont panic, just try to study more the following day. Stick to one main source and 2-3 reference. Dont wander too much. It is of no use. Whatever you read, read it thoroughly and clear your concepts. Reading less and carefully and thoroughly is much better than reading more but not thoroughly.
Good Luck to you all.
Still doing biochem....though slogging and its going a bit slow as every time i need to refer back to the book becoz enzymes and substrates etc all get messsed up specially in the metabolism chapters.... but regardless iam sure constant revision is the key to this game !..so no need to panic or loose hope as every dark cloud has a silver lining ...lets keep up the good work !! 👍
Once iam done with biochem i plan on starting up with physio.
Do u have any particular questions from biochem to discuss ?
Goodluck with studying and keep posting !
Had a bad day yesterday. Feel that I am losing too much time with cellular biology, DNA, RNA, Transcription, Translation, regulation of gene expression etc. I looked in the guide and only 9 questions are coming from this area. Doing vitamins and metabolism today. I don't have any questions right now because everytime I need to clarify something I am searching in wiki. The only questions I am doing are from the released exams. Stiil hope to finish with biochem by Sunday. I think I will start with Physio next as well because it should be done together with biochem. Have you done Anatomy and Dental Anatomy? I have done something in Anatomy but definitely I need to do more revisions.
Have a good day! I will keep posting every day.
@RALUCA
i am also gearing up with biochem....but doing only decks n kaplans....this the first time i am going through this subject.....
i really dont know in how much depth i should do this..metabolisms seem really tough finding it hard...hope to be done by this weekend.....ill be starting with anat then....ill also post some ques once i am done with my first reading by end of this month hope so.!
happy studying to you all...!
good luck👍

😉 before i finally bid goodbye to biochem before the revision cycle ! So lets keep goingggg !!
Hi, as am lseeking for study partner, shall i join , even am doing anatomy....as am retaking the exampls let me my email id

QUOTE=Truth seeker;9090216]hello ALL !
I take the initiative to have a thread for all those of us who plan to take the exam in the first half of 2010 . I'm myself taking the test on April 15th and its of paramount importance to stay motivated and put in our very best during this period of study. We all need to help each other, lest start the new year on a new note, and commit to ourselves to study and work real hard !
So lets all converge here and pool in our thoughts, our strategy , and other related stuff .
Am doing Anatomy right now and hope to be done within a week's time .
No second thought , its a difficult exam and we all badly need to stay in the same studying spree and maintain the flow of thoughts till we're done with exam.
Regards and best wishes to all.
Study well and study hard !

Hello Monsu!hey dentistfairy,
im in LA too....startin to study now...am an international student as well...let me know if u interested..
Hello Monsu!
Which area in LA do u live? Which material do you use?
hi want to ask,,
what is the difference between released papers and asda series?
are they the same???thanks in advance
goodluck!
I think glucokinase. It is called hexokinase in all the tissues except in the liver where it is called glucokinase.Doing the Asda released papers and i have a doubt regarding one of the biochem question.
Which os the following enzymes in essentially absent from normal mammalian muscle?
1. Glucokinase
2. Phosphorylase
3. Glucose 6 Phosphatase
4. Glucose 6 phosphatase isomerase
5. Glucose 6 Phosphatase dehydrogenase
Please answer with explanation.
Thanks😕

How are you guys doing? I am not done with Biochem, took longer than expected. Might have to postpone my exam a little if I cannot follow my schedule. These enzymes make my life miserable. Some of them I can remember easily but others are a pain in the neck. How are you guys memorizing all the stuff? Today I will try and read a little from Lippincott to see if it makes everything easier. Will keep you posted!
Not exactly sure about it, but I think the answer is "3. Glucose 6 Phosphatase". I believe it has something to do with the Cori cycle and the fact that muscle can't metabolize the glycogen the same as it is in the liver.Doing the Asda released papers and i have a doubt regarding one of the biochem question.
