Hey,
which one did you place your hand on ?
its a demand/supply Vs affordability issue .........am sure most will agree with me on this one !
If you can place your hand on the 2009 decks , please go ahead !
I am using 2006-2007. Believe, if you know these, Kaplan review and released papers, you are more than fine. I know somebody who scored 91 and somebody else who scored 89 with these materials. Use other sources only if you have things that you don't understand. At least this is what I am doing. I tried to learn from several books and I stayed 3 days to read 10 pages. It takes forever and I don't think it helps. There was a thread last year called something like who is taking nbde in may-june and I followed Huggies posts and then Ninety made a nice summary. They all got great scores and they all tell what sources they have used and how long it took them, etc. Check out that thread. Good luck!hey !!!!!!!
which year decks ur following. i have 2006-07 one?????????? is that fine?

hello ALL !
I take the initiative to have a thread for all those of us who plan to take the exam in the first half of 2010 . I'm myself taking the test on April 24th and its of paramount importance to stay motivated and put in our very best during this period of study. We all need to help each other, lest start the new year on a new note, and commit to ourselves to study and work real hard !
So lets all converge here and pool in our thoughts, our strategy , and other related stuff .
Am doing Anatomy right now and hope to be done within a week's time .
No second thought , its a difficult exam and we all badly need to stay in the same studying spree and maintain the flow of thoughts till we're done with exam.
Regards and best wishes to all.
Study well and study hard !

Hi everyone, studying dental anatomy and I have some doubts. I request you to look over these questions and share your answers Please.
1. How many cusp tips seen on a mandibular first molar when viewed form buccal surface?
Answer given is 5 (in NBDE Q/A book)
But in Kaplan review on page 804 it says from buccal surface 3 cusps are visible.
Should we choose 5 or 3 for this question?
2. Is mesial marginal ridge and mesial cusp ridge the same?
In Kaplan review page 796 says Mesial cusp ridge is longer than distal cusp ridge for maxillary first premolar. In NBDE Q/A PAGE 212 it says mesial marginal ridge is shorter buccolingually than the more convex distal marginal ridge for maxillary first premolar.I was not sure whether mesial cusp ridge and mesial marginal ridge are same.
3.in wheelers(mine is a very old edition-sixth) in chapter 3 it says eruption of deciduous teeth which is completed between 3 and 4 years of age.As for as my comprehension I understood that they are completed within 2 to 2and a half years. Is this correct?
My question is when will the deciduous teeth complete its eruption sequence?
thanks
1.5cusptips
2.they both r not same
3.two to two and half years

hi
u can ratake ur exam this yr even after u have passed ur exam but only if u registered in 2009 for the exam..doesn't matter wheather u took the date or not but if u registered urself for the exam already in 2009 then u can surely retake ur exam but if not..then U CAN'T REPEAT UR EXAM.
anybody in this thread who are going to crack the nbde part 1 in a few weeks,
in solving the asda papes and revising huge decks can join me.
do reply 🙂

Have finished reading anat once, and DA ( still reading the TMJ part, which is really huge and more important..shud take 3-4 more days to complete it)..and done a few chapters form other subjects here and there..I know, i'm going too slow...Dont know how to speed up.. Lost that pace of studying..any help ??

hi can anyone tell me the names of retroperitoneal organs?
thanks
Wannabedentist,
I used Dental Board Busters for part 1. It was an easy read and organized very well. I scored a 90+, you can search for my thread that I started. The book contains past exams as well. I felt with the other resources, I was reading them and wondering what the tests were going to be like with that particular topic. With DBB, I felt like I was reading both the material and the main points that the tests wanted you to know. It was written by dental students who aced the boards and in my opinion, much easier to read than flash cards or first aid(too detailed). If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them. Either way, it all comes down to the time and effort that you put in. Use what you are comfortable with, and spend more time than you did for the DAT, and you will be happy with your results!
Which is not innervated by the ansa cervicalis?
A-Geniohyoid (C1 -deep )
B-Thyrohyoid
C-Omohyoid
D-Sternohyoid
E-Sternothyroid
Answer is the geniohyoid.
A/B both are branches of C1... Is there any reason why they both are innervated by C1 but GH isn't innervated by Ansa cerv. and TH is innervated by Ansa cerv.??
Source : wiki , btw which set is this q from ?
Geniohyoid : C1 and hypoglossal nerve (XII) via ansa cervicalis
Thyrohyoid : first cervical nerve (C1-C2) via hypoglossal nerve
