Hello Everyone,

So, I think it's time I get started on finding a lender to loan me a few hundred thousand dollars. Due to the financial crisis in the country most of the lenders students have been using are not lending this year.
i spoke with a financial advisor today at my prospective school and she said there is a list of lenders on the staffords website. my issue is that I dont know what to look for. One thing I heard is to find a loan repayment that does not charge any fees. what this means i don't know.
What should i be looking for in a lender?
anyone begin looking?
thanx,
dan

should i assume those who have acceptances have not yet looked into potential lenders?

I've been looking into it but only superficialy. My school's website says to come back in April when their list of lenders is current.
As far as charging fees, I believe that is a percentage or flat amount lenders will charge you for making your loan. I looked at Citbanks website and it stated they do not charge fees, so hopefully that is the norm.
Looking at this info has made all those hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans that I was so casually disregarding before, as more frightening.

my school doesnt publish any list of lenders; i asked my advisor for a few names but she said nothing came to mind.
i guess i'll wait a little longer n see wat develops.
thanx

You can see a list for UCSF if you go to their website and check under students > student financial services > application process > choose a lender. Maybe that will give you somemore info to work from.
