Two excellent users, Shrike and QofQuimica, have proposed setting up a Q&A subforum within the MCAT forum. They will make themselves available to answer questions for those studying for the MCAT.

This forum will operate differently than the standard forum. Only posts asking specific questions or providing direct answers will be allowed. Other discussions about the MCAT will be moved to the main MCAT forum.

All "Volunteer Advisors" and "SDN Moderators" are allowed to moderate this forum.

Welcome to the study question Q & A forum, in which some of the more experienced SDNers share their expertise with those who need assistance in studying for the MCAT, DAT, OAT, and PCAT. This forum is very much a work in progress; suggestions are welcome.

There are threads for the various subject areas on the MCAT, as well as one for questions about the MCAT that are not subject-specific. Each thread will, eventually, be headed by a list of Frequently Asked Questions, with answers or links thereto. The rest of the thread will consists of your questions, and our answers. If you would like to know what topics appear on the MCAT, you should check the MCAT Student Manual (http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/studentmanual/start.htm)

Feel free to post any question about any aspect of your MCAT study with which you are having difficulty. We will answer all reasonable questions; we hope to do so reasonably quickly.

Please do not start a new thread for your question -- just put it in the appropriate existing thread.

Please do not post answers to questions in this forum without a moderator's prior approval. Anyone wishing to help with one or all of these threads -- and we definitely need the help -- please contact one of the moderators. Moderators are listed in the first post of each thread.

As is true elsewhere on SDN, you may not quote or closely paraphrase actual MCAT questions; we will be forced to delete such postings. Please don't make us do that.

I would like to make everyone aware of a free on-line site called MCATPearls, authored by Dr. Alfa Diallo. You can visit it at www.mcatpearls.com for advice on taking the MCAT, as well as brief chapters on AAMC topics for all four MCAT sciences. Dr. Diallo has an MD/MPH and has published a microbiology review book.
