I recall there being an official "fishbones" shorthand for ABGs, something like pH/pCO2/pO2/etc. Anyone recall the official sequence? As well, is there one for Coags? Thanks...

I use (imagine the lines making an upside down Y)

PT l INR
/PTT\

while I know others who claim it should be

PT l PTT
/INR\

I also like (imagine now a Y right side up)

\Ca/
Mg l Phos

And for the folks who might not already know it

T bili l Alk Phos l AST l T prot
D bili l l ALT l Alb

But I have seen the bilis and protein/alb switch with each other at some places.

This, I know.

Just curious if it's material introduced in M2 (not the idea of lab values, but learning how to report them).

Never really learned fishbones until third year. It's not material that is "introduced", its part of that "other" stuff in medical school you learn along the way.

What are all the "fish bones" for everything (that needs to/can be written in fish bones)?

I hope that made sense.

The Maxwell pocket guide carried by many med students has a good guide to these shorthand notations.
