You can most definately withdraw at the last minute from FSU if you are accepted to a higher choice school. Last year we had a hand-full of people not show up on the first day because they had been accepted from other schools a day or 2 before our orientation. So, on day 2 and 3 of orientation we had newly accepted students (pulled from the waiting list) showing up.
The only thing that ties you to FSU is actually attending first day of orientation. For example, if you go to orientation and half way through the day get an acceptance call from another school, you cannot leave orientation and go to the offering school.
Also, a point of confusion last year was whether EARLY orientation ties you to FSU....it DOES NOT...think of our early orientation as more of a 'second look' rather than orientation.
