For starters guys I GOT MY F1 stamped yesterday from delhi consulate 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 ,i am so relieved ,now the realities are setting in, does anyone know the fee schedule ? bu sent me an estimate for year 2004 ( $42,570 for tuition,$9624 inst., laptop $2307,library $1500,clinic fee$965, program fee $144 , health insurance $ 2162)
1) how much do we need to pay initially?
2) by when do we need to pay the first installment?
3) what the various modes of payment? i mean can v wire the money or do v need to deposit the draft personally upon arrival?

i dont want to contaminate ur thread gkg, but congrats on ur students visa. i know its a major hurdle crossed.maybe u can start another thread whrin u can post abt ur visa interview etc, so tht people who r applying for f1 can benefit frm it.
congrats once again 👍

Hi GKG..congratulations..
The last date for the first instalment is 29th july. You can pay the fee in two instalments..
Can you please tell me when is the session starting and a few other doubts regarding visa..
Thanks :luck:

thanks a lot guys!!!!!
as far as i know the session begins on 2nd august there is orientation program first for 2 or 3 days , as for the interviews ,to be very honest i did put in a lot of efforts to prepare the documents but the amazing thing is that the VO never asked THING ,did not even asked for any documents ,infact the most scary part of the admission process turned out to be the easiest.he just asked me the reason for my previous visit to the US

hi gkg
congrats
i would like to know what all document u took for the interview with cosulate.
plz reply back

thanks gkg.
do u have to pay the intsrument fee, library , clinic and program fee even for the second year at school?

My list of documents included
1) passport
2)I 20
3)Forms DS 156, 157, 158
4) NDBE SCORE
5) Toefl score
6) DMS and degrees
7) Letter of financial support ( if your family is going to support your education)
8) CA's evaluation of liquid assets of whoever is bearing the expenses
9) IT returns for past 3 years
you can also get your fixed assets evaluated but the embassy is more concerned with liquid funds
it would also be a good idea to carry bank statements of the accounts from where the money is coming ,so that the VO is convinced that the account is genuine and has been operational for a while ( some one can borrow some money just before the appointment and show the proof of money, so i guess they need to b sure!!!!)
10) If you are taking any loans , the loan approval letter is a must

thanks a lot GKG for fast reply and your guidance
all the very best for ur DDS
take care

...............

What's the 158 form?

I got the 156 off the internet, I don't need the 157 'cause I'm a girl, but the only 158 I got isn't actually a form, but rather a letter asking one to bring all those documents, specially finantial proof.

Is that you got too, as an 158?

Thanks.

Thanks Henna!! infact everyone at SDN has been a great help
although these instructions could b country specific, but it says on the website for American embassy New Delhi
DS 156 DOWNLOADED BACK TO BACK ON a single sheet
DS 157 (for all applicants) i know earlier it was only was males bt ages of 18- 40 years i believe
DS 158( contact information and work history for non immigrant visa applicant)
again this is valid for for India( i am not sure about other countries)

I also forgot to mention previously in the list of documnets that you need to carry all the correspondence with the university( interview letter ,acceptance letter etc)

Hi Gkg and the reason for your previous visit was? As a tourist?
Thanks

Thank you GKG.

Anytime Meggs!!!
