Like should you frame things as "I will run this by my attending and then we will see you together" or just pretend you are the doctor and tell the patient you will be doing a plan without needing to check with an attending.

You're allowed to say you're a med student but they tell you for clarification purposes that introducing yourself as a doctor is acceptable and the default for the exam.

You're also making the plan on the spot in the room and discussing that with the pt, so regardless of how you introduce yourself, you're really playing the role of a doctor

You can introduce yourself however you'd like, but you can't say to the standardized patient: "I'm going to run this by my attending and get back to you." You have to act as if you are the attending.
