For those applying to DR... do we need a separate PS and LOR for our prelim applications?

I'll be applying to prelim medicine programs...currently my LOR for my residency application are from a couple radiologists (let's presume they state that I am an excellent fit for DR) and a specialist (cardio).

Can I still use these LOR for applying to the prelim programs even though they may specifically state why I am a good candidate for radiology? Wouldn't that be irrelevant for a prelim program director?

What about my personal statement? I talk about why I want to go into radiology, my experiences that would shape me into a good radiologist, and my long term personal goals as a radiology attending.

Do I need another set of prelim letters of rec and a prelim personal statement?

Hi,

I matched transitional year this year with advanced radiology match in a high tier program, I did not write separate PS for transitional year, I applied with my radiology PS and LORs. I got my #1 ranked transitional year program and #2 radiology.

Hope this helps!

I would just slightly edit your rada PS about how you want a TY with good clincial diversity and breadth blah blah blah (no more than a few sentences) and use that for prelims/TYs. Same letters are just fine.
