I have my first interview coming up on Wed, and am starting to feel nervous on potential health care questions.

How comfortable are you with all of the issues facing health care in the U.S? I feel that I decently keep up with what's going on, but am overwhelmed by the complexity of everything. After reading the "How would you fix health care thread" I'm feeling like I know way less than I thought.

How tough have these types of questions been during your interviews? Personally, how comfortable were you with the topic?

So far, I have not been asked a single question on health care reform. But I did do some readings on the issue online and in newspapers. Why don't you check out the NY Times, Times magazine, Wall Street Journal, etc? These are pretty helpful in getting you acquainted with the basic concepts.

They don't expect you to be an expert on it. I offered some opinions, but I said that the complexity of it is above my experience level

yeah i have only been asked this question once (between 4 schools/7 interviewers). perhaps read a news article on the plan recently proposed by sen. baucus and formulate an opinion as to its feasibility/good points vs bad points/etc.
since health care reform is a huge issue it might be helpful to just start small like this...

I haven't been asked a question about it in 3 interviews so far, but to prepare I read a bunch of articles from:

http://healthcarereform.nejm.org/

and then read over an outline of Obama's plan. Hope this helps and good luck!

I was pretty surprised. I thought I would be peppered with health care questions, since it's such a huge issue right now, but zero questions on it so far. Not that I'm complaining.🙂

Yikes I guess I had bad luck, both the interviews I had last week they asked me about the problems in healthcare. I try to read NYtime healthcare on a day to day basis. You can also use wiki to get some info. Its out there you just have to read up on it.
