Formal Logic Course

Hello,

My counselor suggested I sign up for logic but I signed up for formal logic thinking it's the same thing. The class so far is about sentences and arguments. Am I wasting my time or can this course help me at all?

Also, UF recommends taking a philosophy course. The formal logic course I'm taking (PHI 2101) is in the philosophy department. Do you think that counts?

Yes, it counts as a Philosophy course. I took the same thing, and as it is boring (for some), it provides another insight to life, making you a more well-rounded person.
