Let's say one of your top choices for residency gave you the option of rotating at a branch campus now or rotating at the main campus in December, what would you do? I know December is late in the game to have any effect on getting interviews, but is it still worthwhile rotating there in order to get a better impression of how the residents interact and of the dynamics of the their ED. Or would I be better off rotating at their branch campus in October and potentially getting a SLOR from an attending there. This could potentially get me an interview. Just in terms of background, I honored all but one of my clinical rotations and scored 237/261 on Step I/II, but I'm from an American school in Israel.

Could work either way - you get a formal SLOR from the earlier rotation, or do well at the later rotation - essentially an 'audition' rotation at the mothership. Some rotations will interview you at the end of the rotation. FInd out about that. You still need a SLOR for the other places you apply to, so that should be a priority.
