hi guys !!!
so i'm a freshman right now and i bombed my first semester....i ended up with a 2.6 ish that may go up or down a little because I had to take an incomplete for one of the class and take the final after the semester ended (which I have no idea how I did..)
Im a cheerleader and broke my shoulder like 3-4 weeks before the semester ended so I missed a lot of class and couldn't study for my finals much cus of endless doctors appointments and surgery....
so for the spring semester I took the semester off and came back home to focus on physical therapy because I still cannot use my shoulder and the doctor strongly suggested that I focus on pt about 3 times a week... now I'm taking classes at a university in the area now (physics 1, chemistry 2, and psychology) because my advisor told me I should.

so my questions are...
1. will the colleges be somewhat understanding of my situation for fall semester?
2. if I improve my GPA from here on out and it is consistently better than this semester, will I have a shot at the pharm schools in california? (UCSF/UCSD/USC/Western/etc..)
3. Is there anything I should do now that would help me get into a pharm school?
4. or should I just give up now?

THANKS GUYS *_*

Yes.

Yes I personally know people w 2ish GPA got in UCSF and USC.

3. Is there anything I should do now that would help me get into a pharm school?

Yes there are several things: 1. Improve GPA (plenty of time as you are only a freshman), 2. Take the PCAT and get a good score, 3. Build your EC (volunteering/shadowing/researching/participating + leadership in student organization), 4. Accumulate good letters of recommendation.

4. or should I just give up now?

THANKS GUYS *_*

No, you should not give up.

But do some research/DD for pharmacy job outlook to see if pharmacy is still worth your efforts. Pharmacy is becoming more and more saturated. There are about 60% chance of unemployment for a new PharmD grad in 2018 - 2022 according to my calculation.
