Fulbright during application cycle

Hi! I am aware that many do a Fulbright during their gap year--is it possible to apply to schools at the same time and undergo the application cycle during the Fulbright year? Would it involve a lot of flying back and forth?

it depends on how many interview invitations you get and where. Most programs that I have heard from are sticking with virtual interviews and interview days. That means you could be dealing with some touch time differences but few or no flights. Obviously if a school insists on in-person interviews, even if you are abroad, and it's a school you want to attend, you will need to get there.
