Hey SDN,

I'm currently in the process of applying for a Fulbright research grant for the 2010 - 2011 year in addition to medical school (highly not recommend doing this, taking away time from my secondaries) and I'm curious to know if the Fulbright is something medical schools will let you defer admission to. I'm also wondering if they let you defer, can you defer if you are accepted off the wait list, or is it only for "accepted" students?

- And should I mention that I am applying for the Fulbright or is that something I should leave out, because I feel like it is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Most schools allow deferrals for "once in a lifetime" awards, such as Fulbrights, Gates, Rhodes, etc.

I highly doubt you'll run into any trouble deferring for something like the Fulbright.

UST2010, I know you.
