I've never heard of these books so I may be sitting this one out. I don't like playing games where I have no idea what anything means. Hunger games WW for example. I had no clue about the significance of the write ups or characters or anything. (I have since read all of the Hunger Games books and am now a huge fan- Thanks dyachei!) I will probably be adding these books to my extensive reading list though.

I think it's more that one of the mods is on vacation from the 17th to the 26th. I think that's plenty of time for at least one game. 🙂 Depending on how fast it goes, and how patient people are 🙂p) IPB and I can start our Tamora Pierce/Tortall game either after Game of Thrones or after HP.

I'd go for a Sookie Stackhouse game. That would be tons of fun. Not really up for modding seeing as how this last game I barely had time to play.

Yes. I'm a huge fantasy fan (Not so much Sci-Fi. Had to ask the fiance if being Lando made me good or bad in the SW game). Not the biggest fan of paranormal romance books, but the plot of the Southern Vampire Series really keeps you reading. Not the best writing though. Much more a Holly Lisle fan.

To keep from hijacking the thread: looking forward to playing more games. I'll be on a cruise for a week in June (9-18). I'd love to play Tortall and HP if they are not around that date.

No Bekah in this game because of a couple logistics issues - IPB hadn't read the last book (and IMHO, it's the best) and because it made it easier to tie things together if all the characters were from (roughly) the same time period. But yes, everything is from Tortall. 🙂

We are JUST about finished with all the details, which is awesome.

At some point or another there's three more games I plan to do, but none are close to being done.

Golden Compass, DRoP, and Redwall. All of which require more reading on my part.

Edit: I plan to look up those books and add them to my reading-list. IPB recommended the Discworld books so I have those on my list too.

By the way, SOV you need to practice your wolf stealth. I was able to read the first few pages of the current game before I left on vacation and had already pegged you as a wolf and I wasn't even playing. 😛

I wish I could still do my golden compass game but I don't think I could get through the reading by the end of June to put it together and I couldn't start the game much later than June 30th. So I will let nohika take that one over, make it good! 😉

Acutally, waiting won't be too bad. I have tomorrow off as part of my vacation, still. 😀 But then I have to work a 12 hour shift on Thursday and Friday and then I have to work Saturday and Sunday as well. Take vacation get crap shifts before you leave and when you return.

JDH (a WW old god and creator of game - I think one of the originals...) did one not too long ago and it was a total blast. It took him a lot of time to design it correctly, but he did it right and the game took 1 month of pure excitement.

That game took forever. And my role was actually fairly lame. You can investigate who is home at night or not. Then I got lynched while I was silenced. But it was fun and complicated.

I was thinking of making a Golden Compass one that would be that involved. I was also thinking of just making a general one like jdh's without really a theme. I had some random thoughts in my head but I don't think I would have the time to do it. I would only have 3 weeks tops for the game to run from start to finish.

Ummmm.... yeah......

The game had good roles and ideas, but the whole thing took way too damn long. Hardly anyone was paying attention anymore even he had checked out. So perhaps with a mod who was on top of everything sure, but no offense to JDH he just didn't have the time to run such a game.
