My general plan for this upcoming gap year I have (just graduated last week) was to carry on doing research in my UG Lab, volunteering, and some more shadowing.

Is this enough "stuff" to answer the question of "So what did you do in this year" or should I apply for a 1 year masters such as in masters in public health etc.? Thanks!

EDIT: I plan on using the extra time for MCAT studying* That's why I purposely didn't apply for jobs or any masters programs yet.

i found this funny. no MPH work its salt is only a 1-year program. Also...in late May you thought you could still apply to a master's that starts in August/September? lol

Actually they totally could have. Most MPH programs have June deadlines.

..and 2 weeks is enough time to study for/take the GRE, write a PS, get 2-3 LORs, and finalize school list?

Also, SOPHAS website only shows like 25ish schools with June deadlines, some of them executive programs. that's not "most programs."

I'll rephrase, most in my area had June deadlines. To be honest I probably wouldn't have studied for the GRE, it could be done.

As Samac pointed out, most schools near me actually let in students in late May and at my particular UG (which I was referring to) I would have most likely gotten accepted!

My main point in discussing the MPH was to see if just getting it will make me look "active and progressive" during this gap time I'm not in school because I would be in school!
