Hi all,

The Gay & Lesbian Medical Association's 25th annual conference is being held in San Francisco on Oct11-14th. It's pretty cheap for students to register, and there are students at Touro willing to help out with housing if you can't afford a hotel in SF.

Here's a sampler of some of the planned workshops:

"Supporting Trans Youth and Their Families" Reid Venderberg, MA, MFT
"New Data on AntiRetroviral Therapies" Claire Borkert, MD
"Investigational New Drug Updates" Jeff Burack, MD
"Addressing Meth Addiction" Steve O'Brien, MD, AAHIVS
"Establishing Percentage: Legal Issues for Lesbians & Gay Men Using Assisted Reproductive Technologies." Isabelle Ryan, MD
"Hope for the Furture: A Vaccine to Prevent Cancer" Eliav Barr, MD
"Conceptualizing Competent Care for Intersex Adults" Katrina Karzakis, Rebecca Baughman, and Sharon Preves, PhD
"LGBTI Medical Students and Medical Education Reform" Elizabeth Eaman, Ambrose Wong, and Brian Hurley

Here's the complete schedule.

For those who've never been to a med conference, its a lot of fun and an awesome way to get connected with others in the medical world: Residency program contacts, advice from other students, etc.:)

You can register for the conference by going to the GLMA site. Or you can just click here to download the PDF registration form.

The REDUCED RATE registration lasts until OCTOBER 1st. It's $250 for GLMA student members. Student membership cost $40 for 1 year or $100 for ALL FOUR YEARS of med school. You get GLMA's journal in the mail when you become a member.
