I've seen people mention Exam Crackers Gen Chem problems for practice. Do you really need to practice all these chem problems, or is the scope of the problems covered in Kaplan?

In other words, should we just know how to do the problems Kaplan has -- or more?

From my experience with the DAT the Gen Chem section is by far the easiest section and very straight forward. I studied using only kaplan and visited my college text for explanations to some concepts. For what it is worth I scored a 23 in this section and wished I had not worried so much about it and focused more on bio due to the wide scope that it covers. Good Luck!

The scope of the problems are covered in Kaplan, though what I found useful about other sources were that some of their questions would catch me off guard and expose some of the areas that I needed to study up on. the downside to EK, as well as other study guides, is the amount of calculations their questions demand in order to arrive at the answer. That simply is not the case with the DAT. While you can anticipate doing some minor math, you will not encountere anything that would require you to write out a page of calculations.
