thanks!Congrats nlmDOC!
I'm in NC! good luck to everyone waiting be patient...they will call 🙂Congrats nimdoc!! Good luck on the interview!
Btw, where are you from so we can update the list?
Hi everyone! I came to this thread with some quesitons, and am hoping that a current GEMS student might have an answer for me or just help me out (fingers crossed). I applied to the 2012 application cycle and received my interview call this past Friday (I'm on the west coast). I read on a previous page that once you are part of the GEMS program, you submit your med school application by October. I have taken the MCAT before and didn't do so well. Obviously a call for interview does not guarantee anything as far acceptance to the program is concerned or to med school. So do you think I should retake my MCAT before this July (that is if I am accepted to the program - again fingers crossed)? I am seriously flippin out over this right now and am hoping that I can get some advice. Thank u much! 🙂
one more question....anyone know what the assessment test on interview day is like...any input?
from nyc and nothing yet....any east coasters got a call?
Hey Everyone,
I'm just a bit confused about the GEMS program - on their website it says that the GEMS program is for underprivileged or undeserved populations.
So I was just wondering - you guys and gals on this thread who applied - do you know if the GEMS program takes applicants who don't come from an underprivileged population etc?
Can other people apply or would that be a guaranteed rejection?
I think the closest we have to an East Coast call was DJDT in Florida....but eventually we will hear one way or the other. Don't give up hope, but don't stress out over it. Nothing to do now but wait, hope, and keep on going.
got a rejection letter in the mail today. good luck to everyone! not giving up tho. def getting ready to submit another med school application with an increased MCAT score! 🙂
Can you check your application to see if it still says "In Review"
naijacardriodoc does your online application say "In Review" or "Complete" or something else?
Not really my issue is really the mcat. I'm just focusing on increasing my score.
