I've heard that these two programs are the best as for SMPs,

if you had to choose one, which would it be and why?

..anyone??

I dont know enough about Cincinnati, but I can list the reasons I chose Gtown.

-1 year program
-oldest running program
-very very well known
-med school is a great school
-GROSS ANATOMY! I think the only school that offers this
-strong support during application year
-good chance of getting into host school
-washington d.c. is an awesome city
-close to several other medical schools (good for networking)
-lots of ex-SMPers that are around to provide tips and advice
-6 medical school courses
-3 med grades by end of 1st semester
-top 50% of class gets interviewed at Gtown

I can't think of anything else right now, but if I do I'll post.

Good luck.

Hey, I don't have time to write out full reasons, but as a graduate of the G-town SMP, I thought I'd throw out a quick opinion. I'll do my best to come back later and explain!

I'd go with Cincy. Truth is you can't go wrong with either. They are both the two best programs, in my opinion.

I'd pick Cincy over G-town for these reasons:
1) You establish Ohio residency while in the program.
2) Smaller class size means more face time with admin and teachers.
3) Most important reason for me, is simply that I would have rather lived in Cincinnati than DC. (Cheaper, etc.)

So, I want to reinforce, that you can't go wrong, and that i LOVED my time at Georgetown. I was just really impressed with U Cinc when I interviewed for their medical school. I'll try to come back and post more later!
