It appears that the issue of medical school and mental illness has been discussed on this forum in the past, but what is the stance on mental disability in the medical community as it pertains to prospective doctors? I am not talking about certain conditions like ADD that are treated with prescription meds. What I mean is, is there any chance that someone who is at least mildly ******ed would stand a chance of gaining acceptance and completing a typical medical school curriculum if they had a compelling backstory? Seeing how many medical schools now seem to have special services for students with learning disabilities, I don't think this question is as absurd as it may have seemed in the past.
