What kind of jobs are available, I really don't know much about this feild and whether or not i would be able to pay off 5 years of student loans with a job in this feild.

thanks

The usual answer is: 1.) practice preventative medicine, 2.) practice occupational medicine, or 3.) add research skills to your CV

Hi,

There are a great many opportunities with an MPH, and quite a few fields to work in. Epidemiology, biostatistics, infectious disease in populations, health systems, health management, health policy, environmental health, maternal and child health, international health, tropical medicine, health in crisis and humanitarian assistance, social sciences, public health informatics, vaccine development, etc. One can work for universities, industry, government (local, state, federal), nongovernmental organizations (NGO's), etc.

At Hopkins, for the MPH, we have 10 departmental tracks, 22 possible certificates, and over 300 courses in the School of Public Health - this is an illustration of the breadth of this field. As a physician, I'm very glad I chose to do this.

You can find a lot of information on this board and elsewhere on the internet.

Best of luck!
