I am thinking whether I should go Boston for an interview on Mar 6 or not. I have 4 interviews so far. Two of them put me on wait list (USC, Touro). (Check my signature). Go to Boston cost me up to 600$ but as far as I know they only accept ~ 25 transfer student to year 3. I have high GPA, some volunteer and EC, summer research in UC Davis, work in pharmacy for a year. The only things I am worried is my writing and oral communication. I don't know if it's worth for me to try Boston. I'm losing hope for this cycle.

I would go for it if you don't already have an acceptance that you would choose to go to over the school in Boston. You put in all that hard work on their application and paid for the fees (pharmcas and suppl) just to get an interview. Now that you have been granted that interview, all your efforts would be in vain if you turned it down without any other school acceptance. The experience would also allow you to further practice your communication skills in an interview setting. Good luck.

I turned down the MCPHS- Boston interview because I had gotten into Touro. Now I know your situation is different, but you have all of these other interviews like Purdue and UOP coming up. I think it would be better to save your money to go to those interviews instead of going to Boston because Boston only has 25 spots. Now if money isn't an issue, by all means, go ahead and go to the Boston interview. I had scheduled to fly out to Boston, but I cancelled and the company wouldn't refund my ticket. They only refunded my hotel and rental car, so that was kind of a pain. Hopefully you wont make the same mistake I did.

You are still waiting to hear from 5 schools, plus you are on the alternate list for a couple. Chances are that you'll get accepted to at least one, but personally I would attend the interview in Boston if I haven't gotten accepted to anywhere yet just to be on the safe side.

I would go!! It sounds like you need practice interviewing. The only way you can do that is to put yourself in that very situation. Also, Boston admits some more people into the second year (at least 25 if not more), who don't quite get into the third year, so I think it is more like 50 spots overall. I think you need the practice, and that in itself is useful. I think you should absolutely go to Boston for the interview. Furthermore, if retail is saturated, and you want to get a residency after, you need to have good interview skills. This experience will help you, even if you get a rejection a few days later. You gain VALUABLE experience. Definitely go.

that's true... if money isn't a huge issue I would go if not just to practice for your other interviews. good luck!

How lucky you are! Money is a little bit issue for me because $600 is not a small amount. It's kind of pain if you pay this amount and get nothing. I wish UCSD accepts me so that I don't have to go Boston.

The trip is expensive but it's better to go take the safe side like what's suggested above. Just don't lose hope. Keep on it positive. You seem to have good stats. Also try to provide update on the schools where you've been waitlist. Wish u luck :luck:

$600 to practice communication skill and a 50/50 chance to get in pharmacy school. Otherwise, keep your $600, and that is all you have.

I think you have your answer already you just want more opinions to solidify yours. G'luck. I might see you there tomorrow.
