Hi!
I graduated from undergrad in 2018 (had a low GPA). From that time to now, I spent one semester re-taking my DAT (went from 16 to 19), and I spent another semester taking a few classes ( 2 prereqs) also working as a DA. In the fall 2019, I started my masters (MPH ) and I also started research. I applied last year (2019 cycle) to several school and didnt weven get an interview. I am re-applying this cycle as well, but I feel like i should be doing more- in terms of being more pro-active such as internships.
So i am basically wondering what you think I need to do more outside of classes. I know its almost time to re-apply, and a lot of schools that i called back to ask why i didnt get into their schools said that if i re-apply with my masters and research, i would have a better chance. But i do have a feeling that there is more that i could do, atleast in the summer.

Can you please share your thoughts on what more i can do to better my chances of getting in?
Please feel free to ask for any clarifications.

Do you have any community service? Try to get involved with a local dental clinic or MOM clinic. You’ll be able to interact with patients, and depending on state laws, allow you to assist. It’s a great experience getting to volunteer in a free clinic since you’ll get hands on experience in the field and learn how to work with patients.

Volunteer work for sure. Doesnt even need to be dental specific. Volunteering at a soup kitchen or animal shelter for instance, will help to make your application more well-rounded. Also maybe consider applying to different schools. If your stats aren't stellar, then maybe re-consider applying to some of the more "top tier" schools
