I was warned that my ego would get shot with these tests, but I am taking all the practice I can get. Just curious how others scored compared to the real thing or other CBT's.

I have heard though, the science sections are harder. To me, they have been pretty straight forward (at least compared to Kaplan).

My average Kaplan test score was a 24-25, out of 12 tests.

I just started taking these tests.

GS1 (7,8,7) 22

GS2 (8,7,8) 23

I have been comparing the GS scoring chart, and it seems they used the standard AAMC scoring chart.

So, anything 60%+... 8, 70%+....9, 75%+...10, 83%+....11.

No, they don't give out their scale because they base the scales on ALL of the ppl who have taken that test. Because new ppl take those tests on a daily basis, the scales fluctuate. One week you could have gotten a 9 but if you had waited 2 weeks perhaps it would have been a 10 even though you missed the same # of questions.

Im taking it tomorrow... but thanks for the heads up.

I figure the practice does not hurt. I test at the end of next month, and I am saving the AAMC's for the coming weeks.

The rest of the test wasn't bad, just the PS section. I am glad to you warned me about the first part though.

GS 7... PS-6(yep),VR-9,BS-8(I thought I would have made an 9-10, but I guess I will have to see the explanations...)

here's how meaningless the GS7 PS score is...

I took it on Sunday and got a 7.

I took AAMC10 PS on Monday and got a 12.

I took AAMC9 PS yesterday and got a 14.

So, there ya go. That GS score is meaningless.

The PS was pretty s***ty again on the GS 8, there was a whole passage just naming compounds from the VSPER theory. In biology there was about a 4 repeat questions from GS7 (just knowledge based ones).

GS-8... PS-6, VR-9, BS-9.

yeah, man, GS is bull****. I got a 7 on GS#7's PS hahahaha. after I saw that score, I didn't even finish the test. I was so angry lol. it was like 99% calculations. every single question. the passages weren't even really passages. just had a bunch of bull****. it was 52 questions of straight calculations. I've been getting 12-13s on AAMCs PS, so I know I'm fine. I've been averaging 9s on GS's PS until this one.

my test is next Saturday. i'm going to redo AAMC 10 and 9 tomorrow and Wednesday and call it good.
I'm in the same boat.......its all calculations...i had like maybe 5 conceptual questions.....👎 How did you end up doing on the real dea?

Are these the same as the newer tests?

Yikes, this thread is from 2009!

Since then, all VR questions/passages have changed (completely different staff), the scoring scale has changed, any repeated questions in the sciences have been identified and replaced.

GS-7 PS still makes people unhappy. But then they review their mistakes, learn and move on. It's not the test to take the night before the real exam.

So how do the new exams compare? I just took GS-2 and scored:

10 PS
11 VR
12 BS

Which is weird because PS was always my strongest section ( 2011 MCAT 13 ps 8 vr 10 bs). Are these ok scores if I'm 6 weeks out and aiming for 35+? Or are the new tests significantly easier than the old ones?

I know this is an old thread, but Dr Turkelton how did you do on the real MCAT compared to GS exam above?

I am usually getting 1 point lower on PS than I did on AAMC FLs and 1 pt higher on BS.
Verbal score is about the same, but its questions suck.
