Just wanted to know if the 100 page Goljan HY doc is worth going over in conjunction with FA High Yield Section in the last 3 days before the exam?

I was planning on reading all the RR margin notes the last two days. Same idea pretty much. Although I haven't seen the document but I might google it come to think of it haha

They come part of a package of files which include Goljan lectures, slides, etc.

With 2 weeks left, I personally going to focus on doing FA, then I will determine what Goljan things I will do.

The question though, is whether those notes are any different to what is covered in RR? As I understand it, Goljan made those notes before he authored RR, which means they are basically "old" editions of RR (especially its margin notes)?

awesome thanks for the replies. I have the Goljan RR, so I guess I will just go thru the margin notes instead

fwiw, it took me 35 seconds to find this by google searching.. its a mess.. i dunno how great these notes are, unless someone comes in here and says omg theyre amazing i doubt ill read em.

They're basically a jumble of facts randomly thrown in (at least the ones I have). I think they're from the pre-RR Path era and most of that material is probably in the book now.

Besides, I don't think it's high-yield for everyone. Here's why: I've been taking very short summary notes from all the practice questions I do, mostly of things I always forget (like chromosomal numbers, associations of one disease with another, etc). It might be that half the stuff I took notes on maybe a piece of cake for someone else, and so won't be high-yield for them... I feel like it's my very own 'high-yield' document because it's high-yield for me.

There are two very different copies floating around out there. One's about 120 pages, the other's about 60. The 120 page one is much better, including the basic explanations and such that Goljan gives as he speaks. Both are much easier to follow if you've listened to the audio before, but if not, definitely get the longer one, it's much better.

Edit: I'm ******ed, I was talking about audio transcripts, not his high yield sheet.

Not really worth it. I have glanced at it. It is basically the prototype of RR pathology. The only thing extra that I noticed was a few biostats concepts thrown in at the beginning.

The 100 page notes are very disorganized and difficult to get through. However, you might like the 36 page high yield notes because they hit all the different subjects, not just Pathology (as opposed to the Rapid Review Path margin notes).

Just to confirm before I drop several hours reading it... is that the one entitled "High Yield Questions for USMLE" and beginning with Physiological effects of hemorrhage?

And yeah, the Goljan 100 makes me cry...
