In his neoplasia lecture, goljan mentions something about "AUPA [sic!!!] tumors" i don't know what he is referring to... can anyone point in the in the right direction?

Thanks!

APUD tumors... amine precursor uptake and decarboxylation.

apud tumors are tumors of neural crest origin. they stain with s-100 because of the neurofilaments. another example is carcinoid tumors.

Just a special name for those tumors which make peptides and are mostly of neuroendocrine origin?
Yup. APUD stuff is secretory, making the majority of the bodies' peptide hormones.
