Hi

Im interested in ophthamology and was wonderingh what would be a good intro book. Most books i have seen look like they are written for residents. I just started third year, so i have practically no background

Thanks

For starters:
AAO's Basic Ophthalmology for Medical Students and Primary Care Residents by Bradford. (very basic, but a good place to start)

Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary Illustrated Manual of Ophthalmology (good for reading during clinic, has some photos)

Wills Eye Manual (good for signs/symptoms/DD, but not for explanations)

More in depth:
Lange's general ophthalmology (I generally like the Lange's series, but find this one particularly difficult to read because it is so dense).

Atlas of Clinical Ophthalmology by David J. Spalton, Roger A. Hitchings, Paul A. Hunter (expensive, but easy to read. many good photos).
