Good summer job ideas?

Anyone have good ideas for summer jobs (medically related or not)? The last job I had was in a restaurant and I would like to try something else.

how about in a restaurant in a hospital cafeteria....that's clinical exposure for you hahhaaha. it'd be a restaurant but it'd be something else ie diff customers.

it just occured to me. You could be a TA or tutor for people taking the intro bio sequence during the summer. I think that the classes are something like 1.5 months long so you could probably fit it in your schedule

Try asking people in certain departments at your undergrad school. My school pays TAs that don't want credits . You could also advertise yourself as a private tutor, or try asking departments/professors at a nearby community college... they might be very happy to have a person with a bachelors degree in ____ from X University TA for them, especially if you did very well (which I assume you did since you're going to med school next year).

Why don't you contact camps in your area? Or look in the newspaper for people that need nannies? Do you have a campus resource center? They probably have info about different summer job options. There isn't really a magic resource that people can point you to for summer job info, you're going to have to do some research for yourself and stop relying on everyone else to figure this out for you.

and it will look great on your CV, especially if adcoms are like me, and have a complete lack of morals.

There isn't really a magic resource that people can point you to for summer job info, you're going to have to do some research for yourself and stop relying on everyone else to figure this out for you.

Now THAT kind of an EC will get you into harvard without even doing an interview. Although, prostitution is quite a jump from stripping, not that stripping is the greatest job ever...

If you like kids, is there a community center or a YMCA in your area? You could potentially get a job at a summer program for kids. I think the Y usually needs swimming instructors, too, but I'm not sure if that would be a paid or volunteer job. Also, if you're going to be in africa for a month, it may be difficult to get a traditional "summer job". Is there a temp agency in the area that you could contact? They may be able to set you up with something (that will probably be crappy, but if you get desperate...)

Being an escort is a good way to meet a lot of interesting people while making a lot of money. On top of which, you never know when someone might be an adcom member! Yay!
Imagine the looks on their faces when they see you at the interview

And unlike strippers, you'll know that you're actually helping someone out with a problem, and not just teasing them about it. The med schools will like that!
